Lt. Col Paul Adams Willard II, CAP, joined Civil Air Patrol as a cadet and is recipient of the Carl Spaatz (#196), Frank Borman Falcon Award, and Gill Robb Wilson Award (#137). Willard received a Commission in the US Air Force and remained active in CAP throughout his military career. Willard entered education as a Senior Science Instructor for Air Education and Training Command and has over 15 years in education teaching in elementary, secondary and college. He was recognized as an outstanding JROTC instructor, and selected as the 3rd place recipient of the National Aerospace Education Foundation Christa McAuliffe Award for Teacher of the Year. Willard serves on the Advisory Committee to the Virginia Department of Education for Career and Technical Education. He is an adjunct professor Florida Institute of Technology. Willard has held numerous positions with CAP serving as Wing Safety Officer in Virginia, Wing Public Affairs Officer in Arkansas, Wing Chief of Staff in Texas, and Aerospace Education Officer in Virginia Wing. At the unit level he has been a Deputy Commander for Cadets, Squadron PAO, and Supply Officer. He is the recipient of numerous CAP decorations and was the recipient of CAP grants in furthering his undergraduate college education. In addition to his career in the Department of Defense and public education, he has worked in heavy industry, professional business, and currently an administrator for the Department of Defense. He holds an Associate of Applied Science degree from Virginia Western Community College, a Bachelor of Arts from Virginia Tech, a Master of Science from the University of Arkansas, a Master of Arts from Webster University and an Ed.S. In Educational Leadership from Liberty University. Willard is a member of numerous veterans and professional organizations.
